BRINGING THE FUTURE OF DATA-DRIVEN WOUND CARE
More than 6.5 million persons are suffering from chronic wounds in the United States. The cost and incidence of chronic wounds is increasing, due to the aging population, and the increased prevalence of diabetes.
New treatments for chronic wounds have led to improvements in wound management but wound monitoring tools and methodologies have not kept pace with this progress. Wound assessment is complex and requires a range of clinical skills and knowledge.
That is why wound care at home is expensive and often innefficient given that care providers simply do not have the necessary tools to accurately track wound healing over time.
GRAPHENE TECHNOLOGY UNLOCKS THE INTERNET OF FIELD DIAGNOSTICS
Grapheal devices are based on Graphene, an innovative material that has been touted as the "miracle material" of the 21st Century.
REMOTE MONITORING OF HEALING
Grapheal presents an electronic wound patch which continuously measures and stores wound biometric parameters, and communicates them to a medical cloud via a smartphone app.
Thus, doctors and nurses can monitor the wound healing evolution remotely and be alerted of any early stage infection, and prevent complications. Grapheal patches will make any bandage smart & connected.
Graphene forms an ultra-thin layer (one atom thick) of pure crystalline carbon. Graphene sits at the border between inorganic (think microelectronics) and organic (think biology) worlds. It efficiently bridges these two fields which usually exclude each other, creating a "bio-electronics" platform capable of sensing & digitizing biochemical signals right where they occur.

Graphene forms an ultrathin and robust conductive layer.
Our patented method of integration on polymer produces soft flexible and fully biocompatible electrodes.

ABOUT US
Grapheal was created in the spring of 2019 as a spin-off from the Institut Néel of the CNRS in Grenoble, that is one of the largest condensed matter physics labs in Europe.
The startup valorises the knowledge and technologies developed over the past ten years by the team of Professor Vincent Bouchiat, the CEO and co-founder of Grapheal.
We are a multidisciplinary team with a passion for technology for healthcare, and expertise in material sciences, biochemistry, wireless electronics, cloud and software engineering.
